Terms of service:

Deposit

All confirmed bookings require a $100 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit. Until I receive that deposit, the date is still available for someone else to book. This deposit covers admin costs in the lead up to your day.
The final invoice will be sent out the week of the wedding and is to be paid via bank transfer a few days before the wedding date.

By confirming and paying the deposit this means you have agreed to the Terms and conditions listed on this page.

Deposits are not to be used for the trial. Trials costs are to be paid on the day or arranged via bank transfer beforehand.

Cancellations

Once the booking has been confirmed, I reserve the right to retain the retainer/deposit. Transferring this as credit to another date is up to my discretion. I will have turned away other bookings and loss of work needs to be covered.. Any no-shows will still be charged for. For last minute cancellations I reserve the right to still charge for service.

Cancellations up to 4 months out I require 50% payment, cancellations up to 4 weeks out I require 100% payment. If the date has been changed once deposit has been paid then this is treated as a new booking and a new deposit then has to be paid to secure the new date.
Under some circumstances I may, under my discretion transfer your deposit as a credit to another date within a 12 month timeframe from your original date

*Cancellations/postponements due to extreme unforeseen circumstances such as a pandemic, the deposit is still non refundable due to admin that has already occurred but can be transferred to another date or held in credit within a 12 month timeframe from the original event date. Please note: The new date will be subject to my availability.

Frequently asked questions:

Bridal Trials

Allow 90 minutes for the trial.

On arrival is the consultation where we talk details of the wedding day (dress, hair, styling, florals, location, bridesmaids etc as the help create the look), skin type, what makeup you normally wear casual/ evening and makeup ideas you like the look of. Creating the makeup look, then making any tweaks or changes if any are required. . A rough timeline can be looked at as long as I have the photographers timeline details then confirmed in email afterwards.

Bring pictures of make up you like the feel of -Show me your Pinterest board. Makeup doesn't have to to be exact, can be an eye from one, skin from another, it’s more to give me a feel for what you are attracted to. We use this as a starting point to work out what will suit you.

A picture of your dress is also helpful. Wear a white or cream top as a coloured or black top definitely throws off the look especially with depth.

Weekday bookings are ideal, weekend bookings are subject to availability as primarily weekends are booked with weddings. Trials that are booked on weekends can be subject to time change due to wedding parties changing timelines last minute. I always keep you in the loop via txt how times are tracking on the day.

When picking a date/time for your trial, its great to team up with your hairstylist so you can see the whole look together. Recommended but not necessary.

We all like a wine or three but if your planning on having your trial on your hens night maybe book before the party gets started as i’ve had to reschedule a few times due to bride being too drunk on arrival. eek!

What do you require to secure an event date?

All services are booked on a first come, first served basis. In order to secure your date, I do require the deposit. The deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable to another date or service.

Do you offer discounted packages?

No I'm sorry I don't offer discounted packages at this time. I often receive multiple bookings for the same wedding date and I typically book anywhere from 12-24 months in advance. However mid week weddings are not often requested so my minimum is 1 and can appeal to brides looking for a discounted rate.

How do I prepare my skin?

It is best if you have been on a skin care plan at least 6 months out from your date to get your skin in the best shape it can be. The night before exfoliate your skin and follow with a hydrating moisturiser/eye creme. In the morning follow your usual skin care routine. Don't apply heavy sunblock. I will use a suitable SPF that work with make up. Do not wax closer than 5 days before as make up doesn't adhere to freshly waxed skin.

I do have a Bridal Beauty Prep plan I can send you the link.

How do I know when to have hair & make up finished on the day?

I pride my self on getting you ready on time for your photographer so good day runs smoothly. Please ask your photographer when they will arrive and the time they want you to be getting dressed.. It's imperative to be on time, otherwise you cut into your photo time. I want to ensure you get all of the beauty shots prior to the ceremony and to eliminate starting your day with any stress.

Makeup takes about 1 hour for the bride and 45 mins per person thereafter with touchups and lippy at the end. We discuss this in detail at your trial. With timing on the day its best to find out from your photographer when they want you getting dressed then I work backwards with time to find my arrival time.

Do you offer partial makeup services?

I'm sorry I do not offer partial services such as eyes or foundation only. As with doing so I cannot guarantee the look will be cohesive with the look you were envisioning for your special day. The only partial service I offer is  Eyelash application.

Will I have to touch up my make up?

You will need to touch up your lips through out the day. If I use professional products and techniques that make sure the make up lasts all day long. In hot weather I do suggest having a pressed power with you as well, especially if you are prone to oily/hot skin.

This is where a trial is very important to make sure the foundation works well with your skin type. I have several options available, it’s about finding the best one for you.

Which is done first, hair or makeup?

It doesn't matter if the hair is going up. If the hair is covering the face or down in waves, Then it would be best if the hair was set first, makeup done then the hairstylist can then style the hair in place.

What do you need for setup on the day?

I only need good natural light and space. Preferably non-tinted windows. I do NOT setup in bathrooms. I come with my foldout table and directors chair so you don't need to worry about anything.

Do you stay for touch-ups?

I do lippy and setting spray on everyone at the end before getting dressed and have a quick look over to make sure everything is where it should be.

If you need me to stay for touchups during the photo session, first look or after ceremony, this service is booked in advance, depending on my availability, and is billed at the hourly rate listed in the rate section of my website

Can you leave and come back for touchups?

Yes absolutely, this is dependant on what else I have booked for that date and needs to be booked in advance. *Price is dependant on details.

Is your service mobile?

I travel all around Hawkes Bay, and all over NZ (travel charges apply) Out of town also requires 1 night stay.

Where does the trial take place?

At your home or your more than welcome to come to me in Napier.

I have a large bridal party, can you get us all ready early?

Yes absolutely! Depending on your timing I can work up to 7/8 alone, and do so frequently. I work alongside your hairdresser to make sure the day runs smoothly and on time. If there are more people than I can service I will find another makeup artist to come help me, I always use a makeup artist who is also exceptional so there is no need to worry. I don’t use assistants

I don't wear heavy make up, will I still look like me?

Yes absolutely, I like the make up to enhance you and not feel like a mask. Your skin will look fresh. I highly recommend a trial to see what you are most comfortable with.

Can my mother/future mother in law or any other attendee have a trial?

Yes, absolutely. Anyone can have a trial. As a matter of fact, I frequently do trials for the mothers as they often have had their makeup done before and have been unhappy with wearing too much makeup and have not felt like themself. So this is a lovely way to make sure everyone is happy on such a special day and to put their minds at ease. After all mums need to feel pampered too…
